Stories I have written to follow or precede those of others... Comments?

The third story I tried to write, and second I finished, was a follow up to Bryan Neef's story "Ranma's Birthday". It was the first one the original author LIKED. This one literally took 3 hours from idea to (nearly) finished product... "Roses for Kunou". (8/15/98) 5K.

The second story I tried to write a follow-up to, and third I finished, was Scott Jamison's (SKJAM!) story "But That Way Lies...". I think he likes the story, but doesn't feel its tone fits 'But That Way', so its an "unofficial" continuation. This story is still under review and may change from its current form. You're welcome to read it anyway... "Beyond That Way... Phoenix Rising". (12/26/98) 36K

My personal favorite of my follow-ups was written as a follow-up to Bryan Neef's story "Can't Win".The problem about writing a follow-up to this story is that there are two radically different events which can occur at the beginning. How good of a job did I do describing the consequences of both? "Tapestry". (8/15/98) 18K

Next, are the two stories I wrote after reading James Lee's story "It's a Wonderful EVA". The question here is how did the goddess Ranko come to be? And then there's the matter of another goddess he lists... "Ascension" (8/13/98) 3K, and its sequel "Aftermath" (Draft 8/12/98) 10K. I'm grateful to James for posting "Ascension" on his web page, making it my first 'published' story...

Here is the story I wrote in response to Nick Leifker's great new work "Iris". Essentially, I was wondering how a couple of scenes which were hinted at in "Iris" and "Iris: Angel" would turn out. I quickly wrote a story which, after weekly C&C from Nick, became a tale which serves to bookend the the original story, Iris..."Bookends: A Pig's Tale". (12/13/98) 35K

Bryan Neef inspired me again with his draft of "Cologne's Final Confrontation" on his ideas page. After sweating over the characterization of a new character both of us could agree on, I offer: "Lunch at the Nekohanten" (11/12/99) 19K.

After receiving numerous e-mails, I decided to spruce up "Little Condo on the Prairie" (11/12/99) 26K and move it here. It is a story which might follow Susan Doenime's "Poison". I read Poison after enjoying James Lee's "Alternate Future".

An innocent question about the fate of DF Roeder's story "The Prank That Wasn't" ended up with me writing a little spamfic describing Nodoka's first encounter with the "New and Improved" Ranma, resulting in: "The Seppuku that Wasn't" (Draft 02/05/2000) 8K

Adam Brown's "One War Three Sisters" is a clever combination of Ranma, X-Com and Starcraft. After reading the story, I asked Adam for permission to write a sidestory based on a character from his tale. Thus was born "Voice of the Phoenix".(Draft 10/21/2000) 32K
