Why do we see the infamous "Karate Kid" stance everywhere?
While I hate the thought of referring to a stance as "The Karate Kid" stance because I find it just as annoying as referring to cars like V12 Vanquish or BMW Z3/Z8 as the "The James Bond" car, I'm going to refer to it simply because most ignorant masses use movies as references and I don't wanna confuse people by referring to it as the Crane Stance, its rightful name. I'm basically dumbing myself down to make this rant more understandable to stupid people, to avoid confusion.
The "Karate Kid" stance is from the movie, "The Karate Kid". It's basically a stance where one person stands on one leg while his other leg is held forward in front of him and both if his hands are stretched outward from his body as if he's about to start flapping invisible wings with them.
I see that all the time, be it in the movies or in commercials or on some television show. Some dumb fuck would try to act all manly when confronted with a situation that might result in fighting and go "I know Karate" and start making weird noises like "Ooowaaaaaa" as he punches a few times at the air in front of him before finally going into the infamous one-legged Crane Stance from "Karate Kid" movie.
Why the fuck do people constantly go into that stance on television? Is it done so as a tribute to "The Karate Kid"? Do they do it to make the audiencš†›Ý go "Whoa, that guy is doing that 'Karate Kid' stance which means me must know martial arts"? What's fucked up is that, even though the novelty of that "Karate Kid" stance ran out long ago, you can still see it. For instance, I remember seeing it in a Blockbuster commercial that had computer generated hamsters.

"Look at me, I'm a fucking retard"
Here's a question, why is the movie called "The Karate Kid" anyway? The Crane Stance that he uses is a stance from Shaolin Kung Fu, not Karate, right? Shaolin Kung Fu is Chinese. Karate is Japanese. Shouldn't it be called something like "The Martial Arts Kid" or "The Kung Fu Kid"? Oh well, it's just an observation anyway.
While I have nothing against the Crane Stance, I just find it incredibly annoying how it has now been branded as "The Karate Kid" stance and used jokingly whenever a reference to martial arts is required. People should stop using it like they should stop using that damn 'Bullet Time' effect from "The Matrix" movie.
Anyway, the "Karate Kid" Stance fucking sucks.
