Jeffrey "OneShot" Wong Ranma 1/2: The life she always dreamed about I'm just doing this for fun :) Basically, the Ranma from my Ranma's girls somehow ends up in the Ranma universe we all know. How? Your guess is as good as mine. "Where am I?" Akane said as she looked around the bedroom. This didn't look like her bedroom. She was sitting on the edge of her bed, taking in her new surroundings. This looked like her bedroom, yet it looked totally different. Her bedroom look like it had been rearranged. She noticed things there that weren't there before, like that vase of roses near the open window. She also noticed that the bed she was sitting on was a king-sized bed. There was a knock on the door. Akane looked down at herself and noticed that she wasn't dressed appropriately. She quickly went to her closet to pick out something suitable to wear and was shocked to realize that the clothes in her closet weren't hers. She didn't recognize a single outfit in there. But that didn't prevent her from pulling out the first thing she saw and putting it on. She put on some casual clothes consisting of a ankle length skirt and a short sleeve blouse. Before she went to answer the door, she looked at herself in a full length mirror that was hanging on the door, and noticed that she looked rather good in that outfit. It was too bad her gaze never left the outfit. If it did, she would had noticed that she no longer looked sixteen. "Come in" she said. The first thing she would do is ask what was going on, why her room was like this. She noticed that this was indeed her bedroom because it still had that cozy feeling to it, but it looked nothing like the bedroom she went to sleep in last night. A little girl opened the door and entered the room. Akane didn't recognize the girl. She couldn't help but notice how beautiful the little girl looked, as if she was like a little angel. The girl had silky brown hair that came down to her shoulders, and the most adorable chocolate brown eyes. The girl looked like she was around eight years old, maybe a little bit younger. Akane watched as the girl crossed the bedroom and flopped onto the bed, her feet not even reaching the floor. "Do I know you?" Akane asked. She figured it was best that she ask someone older on what had happened to her room. But first, she should know who this little girl was. Meggie looked at Akane for a second, wondering why she was acting that way. She shrugged her shoulders and giggled, figuring Akane was just trying to have a little fun with her by pretending she didn't know who she was. But that wouldn't fool her. She wasn't that gullible. She figured she might as well have some fun and play along "Of course you know me. I'm Meggie" "Meggie?" Akane said, thinking back to see if she could recall that name. She couldn't "I-I'm sorry, but don't recognize the name" At that moment, stepped in front of the open door, leaning against the doorjamb. "It's nice that you finally woke up, honey" he said with a smile, his arms crossed over his chest. Akane looked up at Ranma and was momentarily taken aback. Ranma looked like he was in his late-twenties. Even though he looked older, he looked incredibly handsome, as if the years had treated him well. But what surprised her the most, was what he called her. Did he just call her honey? "R-Ranma? Is that you? And what did you just call me?" "Akane's pretending she lost her memory, Daddy" Meggie said, hopping off the bed to stand by Ranma's side. She looked back at Akane "Well, you're not gonna fool me with that one, Akane" Ranma patted Meggie gently on her head "You better head on down and eat, before your food gets cold" He then turned his attention back onto Akane, a warm smile on his lips "You're gonna hafta try better than that if you want to fool her. You know how smart she is" He entered the room and sat down on the bed next to Akane. When he noticed Akane staring at him he spoke up "Is something wrong?" Akane found herself staring at Ranma. Was this the same Ranma? Why was he acting that way? Why did he look ten years older? When she noticed Ranma gazing at her curiously, she turned her attention away "I'm fine" "If you say so" Ranma said, getting back up off the bed, placing a hand on Akane's shoulder "I made breakfast. You better come down and eat before Meggie and Jessie finish everything" He turned to leave the room. But before the closed the bedroom door behind him he turned and faced Akane again "I like the outfit. You look really beautiful in it" "Glad you can join us" Ranma said in a rather cheery voice as he noticed Akane enter the room. It had been about ten minutes since he had told her she should come down. He had been wondering what was taking her so long, but now that she was here, it didn't seem to matter that much anymore. When Akane sat down at one end of the table, away from both Ranma and the twins, Jessie gave her a curious look "Hey, Akane, why're sitting all the way over there?" she said. "Um, where do I usually sit?" Akane replied. She didn't really know what to do. Here she was, in a place setting totally unfamiliar to her, and this little girl seemed to know her. She wondered why. There was no way she could forget a child like this. "You always sit in between us" Meggie said, gesturing to the empty seat right in between her and Jessie, which meant she would be sitting directly in front of Ranma as they ate together. Ranma raised an eyebrow as he continued to eat "Hey, Akane, how come you're actin' strange all of a sudden?" "What did you just say?" Akane said, her anger rising. Did Ranma just call her strange? Even though he wasn't the real Ranma she knew, he sure seemed like him. Aside from the more mature look to him that is. Jessie and Meggie looked up at Akane, a hurtful look in their eyes. Jessie spoke "How come you're yelling at Daddy like that? Why are you mad at him?" She didn't believe Daddy did anything wrong. At that moment, Akane felt like the lowest person in the world. She had totally forgotten that the little girls were there watching. She didn't dare think of the effect it might have on those girls if they saw Akane actually strike Ranma like she always did. "It's okay, honey" Ranma said in a soothing voice, reaching forward and giving Jessie's hand a gentle squeeze, causing her to brighten up. "I-I didn't mean it" Akane added, feeling very remorseful "I-it was only a joke" That seemed to brighten both girls up. As if nothing had happened, they went on with their eating. Ranma watched them for several moments before turning his attention onto Akane, who was looking wistfully at the floor. Boy, did she feel real low right now. Ranma didn't really know why Akane had gotten angry all of a sudden, but figured it was best to mind his own business. Together, everyone ate in silence. "I'll be back in a little while" Ranma said as emerged from the kitchen after having picked up all the dirty plates and cleaned them. He took hold of both Meggie and Jessie's hands, proceeding toward the front door. "W-where are you going?" Akane asked. She had no idea where he was headed with Meggie and Jessie. Ranma gave Akane a odd look before answering. If she wanted to play some game with Meggie and Jessie, that was fine with him, but there was no need in pretending with him "Where I always take them, to school" He helped Meggie into her jacket and then did the same for Jessie. He handed them the lunches he had prepared for them "I'll be back in a little while" Akane watched as Ranma and his daughters left and disappeared through the front gate. She stood in the doorway for several moments, wondering exactly where she was. Was this some alternate universe? If it was, then she needed some answers. "What am I going to do?" she said to herself "I don't belong here" She didn't quite say the last sentence as loudly as she did the first one. Even if she didn't belong here, she sure didn't have any complaints. Actually, now that she thought about it, this morning seemed a bit pleasant, excluding that little part where she had misinterpreted Ranma's words. And speaking of Ranma, Akane thought, who is he really? I assume those are his daughters. Would that make me their mother? No, it can't be. If I were, they wouldn't be calling me by my first name. Hmm, I wonder who their mother is? At the thought of that, Akane realized something. If those children weren't supposedly hers, then that meant Ranma had been with another woman, those children's birthmother. Akane felt herself becoming angry at the thought. It must be Ukyo then. She felt something moist touch fall on her arm. She looked at her arms and realized they were tears. She quickly went to the bathroom where there was a mirror and looked into it. Upon gazing at herself, Akane realized that tears were flowing from her eyes. She tried to wipe them away, but they wouldn't stop. "W-why am I crying?" she asked herself, still trying to wipe them away, much to no avail. Could it be over the fact that she was those children's mother? No, that can't be....could it? Akane figured it was best not to think of that. It was none of her business. Besides, she didn't belong here, wherever here was. She went into the livingroom and sat down on one of the lush couches. She sat there for several moments before she realized the entire house was quiet. I wonder where everybody is, Akane thought. This must had been the first time in a long long time since she was home by herself. Despite the peacefulness, she couldn't relax. Where could everybody be? She looked up at a mantle and caught sight of some pictures. She got up and walked over there, picking a random picture up and checking it out. When her gaze rested on the picture, she was shocked to see some things she never expected. In her hands was a picture of Kasumi and Ono Tofu standing right happily right next to each other, Kasumi smiling happily while holding a tiny baby in her arms. Did Kasumi and Dr. Tofu finally get together, Akane thought. Is that their child? Akane placed the picture down. This was too much for her. There was only thing she could tell herself that seemed to make her feel a little better "I-I don't belong here. This isn't my life, This is somebody else's" There was a knock that the door, giving Akane a quick start. She was expecting to see Ranma back from droping his kids off at school but was surprised when she realized it was a young boy. "May I help you?" Akane asked. "Well, I'm sorry to bother you, sensei, but we're all waitin' for you" he said, a bit nervously. He was a blushing a bit, nervous to be in the presence of someone so pretty. The new sensei was one lucky guy to be working with her all day. Akane looked at the young boy curiously. He stepped aside as she stepped outside and immdeiately noticed the huge crowd of people waiting patiently in front of the dojo. When they saw her, they all bowed respectfully. She quickly realized what the young boy meant. Everyone outside was waiting for her to open the door to the dojo. At first, she thought she had misinterpreted his words. She opened the door stepped into the dojo, everyone following suit, bowing once before stepping onto the mat to begin their practice. Akane watched as everyone went about their excercises. She looked around and noticed the dojo looked much more modern than the one she trained in. This one looked much nicer and was also larger. She also noticed a picture of her father, Soun, hung in the middle of the classroom, and that caused her to wonder why. Where was her father anyway? Ranma entered the dojo behind Akane, placing a hand on her shoulder to get her attention. She turned to face him as he spoke "I'm sorry I'm late" He looked over her shoulder and noticed that most of the class was finished with their stretching and excercises and were waiting to be instructed. He looked at Akane and smiled "Well, they're waiting for your instructions" Akane's heart leapt into her throat "M-me?" She wasn't good enough to be a sensei. She was only a martial artist of a intermediate rank. She noticed several students wearing black belts, a couple of ranks higher than herself. And she was supposed to teach? "Well, they're your class" he said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. He didn't really see why Akane would keep up the charade. Meggie and Jessie were no longer here. He headed for the office to do his share of the paperwork. "Wait" Akane said. When Ranma turned around and gazed at her with those warm eyes, she found herself feeling a bit nervous all of a sudden "Um, w-would you teach for today? Um, I don't feel all that well today" She also gestured toward her apparal and gave a weak laugh "And besides, I-I'm not dressed for the job" Ranma gave Akane a thoughtful look, a smile on his lips "Well, I guess you're right" He walked passed her and headed for the lockerroom to change, but not before saying something to the class "Okay, everybody, go over the first kata forms I showed you. I'll be back in a sec." Akane stood there, very silent. When Ranma had walked passed her, she could smell the scent of his aftershave, something she had never noticed on the younger Ranma. The fragrance was almost intoxicating. She found her knees almost buckling from just the scent. W-what's wrong with me, Akane though. Why is my body reacting like this to him? What's going on here? Ranma emerged from the lockerroom dressed in his dogi. Akane gasped when she noticed him. She had never seen Ranma in a dogi before, and the sight of him was very...breathtaking. When Ranma gave her a quick smile before bowing and stepping onto the mat, Akane found a sense of heat flooding to her cheeks. Akane needed to get out of the room. She was starting to feel light- headed. She needed to sit down. She went into the office and sat down in a chair, her arms on a desk as she rested her head on them. She needed to take all of this in. God, this is so weird, she thought. All he did was just smile. And that isn't even...Ranma. At least not the Ranma I know. He's so different. He's nothing like the real Ranma. But then again....it isn't all that bad. Is it? She steeled herself to look back out the door, toward Ranma. Ranma looked like it was second nature for him to be a sensei. She turned her attention back onto the desk, noticing all the paper lying neatly on top of it. She picked up a piece of paper and looked at it. She noticed the monthly scedule. She picked up another piece and notice that one was different. It was on the students' progress examination dates and personal info. At that moment, Ranma entered the office. He looked at Akane a bit oddly when he noticed she wasn't sitting behind her desk. He wondered where he should sit. There was the seat right next to her, and then there was the one behind her desk. He chose to sit down next to her. "R-Ranma" Akane said. She was sitting by herself one minute, and then she found him sitting next to her the next. She was grateful she didn't over react and knock him out for sneaking up to her like that. Actually, she would had done that, but she had to rembmer that this wasn't the regular Ranma she knew. Yet for some reason, she always kept forgeting, remembering at the very last minute. She shuddered to think of what would happen if she hadn't kept herself in control. "They're goin' over the moves I showed 'em" he said, jerking a thumb over his shoulder. He gave Akane a quick glance. God, she looked nice in that oufit. He wondered what compelled her to wear that all of a sudden.
